AMETIC Meeting of the digital economy and telecommunications

From 2 to 4 September, Eugenio Villar participated in the 38th AMETIC Meeting on the Digital Economy and Telecommunications held in Santander as part of the UIMP programme. The event, which brought together more than 200 representatives of electronics and communications companies in Spain (https://ametic.es/evento/santander38/), once again brought attendees closer to the reality of the technological world and its impact on the economy and society through the reflections and opinions of the top representatives of the main companies in the sector as well as Spanish and European authorities linked to the Digital Economy. The meeting once again served as a forum for presentation and exchange of information through keynote lectures and round tables by professionals and top representatives of the electronics, telecommunications, information technology and digital content industries. Thus, Francisco Alcalá participated in Roundtable 04: Collaborative innovation driven by companies: the case of Innova IRV and Plan Crece.

Microelectronics was once again represented in Roundtable 06: AMETIC Microelectronics Strategy Proposal for Spain, with Marcos Martínez, Coordinator of the Microelectronics Working Group. Also noteworthy was the conference: “TPC: From LLMs to Hardware; A view from Europe”, given by Mateo Valero, General Manager of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC).

The event allowed Eugenio Villar to hold interviews with Marcos Martínez, from MaxLinear, Mario Nemirovsky, CTO of Innova IRV, Jaime Martorell, Commissioner of PERTE Chip and Teresa Riesgo, Secretary General of Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, among other participants.
