The University of Cantabria and the companies Acorde and TST sign the collaboration agreement for the creation of the Chip Cantabria Chair

The rector of the University of Cantabria (UC), Ángel Pazos; the CEO of the company Acorde, Manuel Lobeira Rubio, and the CEO of Tecnologías Servicios Telemáticos y Sistemas (TST), Francisco José Alcalá, have signed this morning the agreement for the creation of the university chair “Cátedra Chip Cantabria”, for the development and promotion of microelectronics as an enabling technology.

The creation of this chair has been possible thanks to the granting of a grant of 387,150 euros to the UC in the call of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation for the granting of grants for the creation of university-business chairs (Chip Chairs), aimed at research and development in the area of ​​microelectronics, for the dissemination of knowledge and training within the framework of the European Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PERTE) – financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU and which includes the commitment by ACORDE and TST of a financial contribution of 15% of the total financeable cost requested.
